Plan and coordinate organized discretionary time activities for Incarcerated Individuals within the facility. This would include developing and directing a comprehensive recreational program of athletic and non-athletic activities; assessing the interests of the Incarcerated Individuals; developing procedures for an monitoring all activities to ensure compliance with established directives; soliciting Incarcerated Individuals and community involvement; providing instruction in an officiating at activities; preparing written reports; maintain records, programs and equipment; responsibility for issuance and repair of equipment and supplies; conducting tryouts and selecting teams and officials.
Job Function

Salary Range:
From $49202 to $62806 Annually
Minimum Qualification
You must take and pass a Civil Service examination when offered for this position. Minimum qualifications for taking the open-competitive examination:
must have:
Either 1. an associate's degree in physical education, recreation, recreational therapy, or a closely related recreational field AND two years of experience directing or assisting in the direction of a scheduled, organized recreational program; Or 2. a bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation, recreational therapy, or a closely related recreational field; Or 3. a bachelor's degree AND two years of experience as described in #1. Qualifying closely related recreational field degrees for this exam are:
athletic training, exercise science, kinesiology (athletic training), kinesiology (physical education), kinesiology (sports management), movement and science, recreation and leisure studies, recreation education, recreation management, sports management, or therapeutic recreation.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
